Our History

The Asotin County Library Foundation was formed in November 2008 to serve as a fundraising organization in support of the Library’s strategic plan. Specifically, the Foundation was formed to support capital projects and to develop an endowment to provide ongoing support of library needs.

Our Projects

The Foundation’s biggest and most important project so far has been to raise funds to do a renovation of the Downtown Library, including the addition of a mezzanine. Annual auctions and an $80,000 in 80 days fundraiser enabled completion of this project. With the additional space, the Library has been able to add an Early Learning Center, a Teen Area with a STEAM Center, a Creation Space and a Conference Room.

Smaller projects have included a Storywalk® in Beachview Park, the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program and a digital readerboard at the Heights Branch Library.

The Foundation is in the process of starting an endowment.
