At the Library
The Board and Administration of Asotin County Library are committed to providing a culturally rich environment for our users to enjoy.
We consider ourselves the Humanities Hub of Asotin County, and as such, we value literature, music, and the visual and performing arts. This commitment to the humanities is exemplified by the works of art that we have on display at the Downtown Library. Come and see!
Local Artists
Paintings by local artists Donna Baker, Bill Blair, Marilyn Brown, Vicki Gertje, and Beth Rimmelspacher are currently displayed throughout the Asotin County Library.
Thomas J. Golonka Collection
Mr. Golonka donated his collection of Kachina dolls, scale model cars, books and cultural items to the Asotin County Library. Selected items from his donation are on display in glass cases at the Downtown Library. His generous gift is greatly appreciated.
Asahel Curtis Photographs
A collection of Asahel Curtis photographs, gleaned from our Asotin County Heritage Collection, is displayed on end panels on the lower level of the Downtown Library.
Quilt Display
Clarkston resident Bonnie Holland created and donated the large quilt on display at the Downtown Library. She used a 1998 pattern by Robert Callaham. Three of the blocks in the pattern were supposed to be pieced, but she created her own appliqué patterns instead. Holland used "scraps from her stash". She worked on it, on and off, over a 5 - 6 year period of time and had it machine quilted.
Houseplants
A wide variety of houseplants are located throughout the Downtown Library. Plants are cared for by our volunteer Peggy Madonia, a member of the Asotin County Master Gardeners.
