Our Collections
Collections of books, both fiction and non-fiction, those for children, teens and adults have been carefully selected for the use of library patrons. We strive to represent a broad range of interests and opinions for the educational and recreational edification of our users.
The magazine collection includes a broad range of general interest titles for information and recreation. Available for all ages at both Library branches.
The Large Print Collection includes fiction (adult and juvenile) and non-fiction (adult) books published in a larger type size for patrons who prefer reading larger print.
This collection includes fiction and non-fiction books for all ages in the Spanish language as well as several bilingual titles.
The Croskrey Collection includes local history items such as Clarkston High School and Asotin High School yearbooks, local histories written by local authors, Aoki’s Nez Perce Dictionary and the Lewis & Clark Collection.
Consisting of popular titles with long hold lists in the regular collection, the Lucky Day Collection allows people to find the book they have been waiting for on the shelf serendipitously. A maximum of two Lucky Day books can go out for two weeks.
Lucky Day books are available at both the Downtown and Heights library branches.
Daily newspapers, available in the adult reading area, include the Lewiston Tribune, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. Newspapers are kept for the current month.

The adult puzzle collection consists of puzzles, usually 500 or 1,000 pieces, which can be borrowed without being checked out. Please let us know if you borrow a puzzle and find that there is a piece missing. We do not want to put incomplete puzzles back on the shelf!
From floor puzzles with giant pieces to 500 piecers, there is a puzzle for every skill level! Children's puzzles can be placed on hold and must be checked out using a library card.
Attractive bags containing 5-10 copies of a book and discussion questions may be checked out for six weeks so that book clubs have the time to distribute and retrieve books from members. Learn More
The Oversize Collection consists of books that are too large to fit on the regular shelves. As such, they are often full of beautiful pictures and are worth a look.
A collection of biographies is located on the first floor of the Downtown Library in the southwest corner.
