Disruptive Patron Policy

The purpose of the staff is to assist and serve the public who utilize the resources of the Asotin County Library.  In assisting and serving the public, situations may arise that do not fall within reasonable bounds of providing public service.

Staff at all times are to remain courteous and polite to all members of the public.  However, no staff member is required to continuously take verbal abuse of a personal nature from a patron.  If such an event occurs, the supervisor should be called and the patron may be asked to leave the library.

If rude, disruptive or violent behavior continues to occur, the patron may be barred from the library.  If a patron who has been barred from the library returns, the supervisor shall first call police, then notify the Administrative Librarian of the action taken.
